The challenges of a steeply sloping site were resolved with a series of terraces: a formal dining terrace, a clipped lawn, and then, wrapping around these, a wildflower terrace. Views to the countryside beyond are framed by yew hedging and pleached hornbeam. Espalier fruit trees provide a screen between the entrance courtyard and main garden beyond.
